if your not sure what you dont like about it, play with some different cropping. thats what i do. there maybe one that works better and that can transform an entire photo.
did you take the photo in RAW? try some different colour temperatures, maybe a warmer one will give you more the feel you are after.
from my point, i may have bounced a little light back into her face with a reflector, just so as not to make it as dark. but the the strong contrast is probably something you wanted.
